Bag MOQs explained — why 50, 100 and 200 are different numbers
Minimum order quantities for custom bags are 50 pieces for laptop, gym and duffle bags, 100 for backpacks and sling bags, and 200 for tote bags. The differences are arithmetic, not policy: setup cost is roughly fixed per design, so the lower the unit price, the longer the run has to be before the piece price makes sense.

What setup cost actually covers
Before the first bag is sewn, someone has cut a pattern, made or adjusted a sample, digitised the embroidery file or burned the print screens, matched the colour and set up the line. That cost is broadly the same whether you order 50 pieces or 5,000, and it is spread across the run.
On a laptop bag with a meaningful unit value, spreading setup across 50 pieces still leaves a sensible price. On a tote bag, it does not — the setup would be a large fraction of the piece price, and the quote would look absurd.

How to reach a minimum you cannot hit alone
Three practical routes. Combine departments or branches into one order rather than ordering separately. Combine product lines in one shipment, so each hits its own minimum but you pay one freight and one customs entry. Or order above the minimum and hold the balance for next year — a plain bag with an embroidered crest does not date.
If none of those work, ask anyway. A below-minimum run is usually possible at a higher price per piece, and an honest quote for what you actually need is more useful than a refusal.
Why a lower MOQ is not always the better offer
A supplier offering 10 pieces of a custom bag is usually decorating stock product, not manufacturing to your specification. That is a legitimate service, but it is a different one: you get their bag with your logo, not your bag. If the specification matters, the minimum is a sign of where the work is happening.
