Screen printing vs embroidery vs heat transfer on bags — choosing by use case
Screen printing is cheapest for flat logos of a few solid colours. Embroidery is raised, most durable and best on shirts, caps and bag panels that will be washed. Heat transfer is the only method that reproduces photographs and gradients. The choice is driven by artwork and use, not by price alone.

Match the method to the artwork
If the logo has a gradient, a photograph or more than six colours, screen printing will not reproduce it and embroidery will not either. That decides the question before cost enters it.
If the logo is fine text below about 4mm, embroidery will lose it — thread has a minimum legible size. Print or transfer instead, or redraw the mark at a larger size for the embroidered version. Many organisations keep a simplified crest specifically for embroidery, and it is worth having.
Match the method to the use
A school backpack is carried daily for a year and washed occasionally: embroidery on the front panel. A conference tote used for two days: screen print. A gym T-shirt washed twice a week for two years: embroidery on the chest, and expect a screen print to fade first.
Bag panels take embroidery well because the panel is usually flat and stabilised before assembly. Ask whether the decoration happens before or after assembly, because after-assembly embroidery is more constrained in placement.
